Two years after their sophomore album, Ananda Mida return with Karnak, a live EP featuring three tracks recorded during the summers of 2018 and 2019. The opening track is an unreleased instrumental version of “Anulios,” from the band’s debut LP. It is followed by an instrumental jam in which Pablo steps aside to make room for guitar maestro Mario Lalli (Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson). The final track is the opening song from Cathodnatius, featuring Conny Ochs on vocals.
The EP captures the band’s uninhibited, adventurous approach to improvisation—an essential element of Ananda Mida’s live performances. From the outset, the group has embraced the idea of a collective, creating space for free collaborations and changing lineups onstage. Eeviac’s artwork represents another step toward the album’s choral vision, which will emerge fully in the next release and complete the trilogy.
