Straight from the stage of Italy's Maximum Festival 2013, here is Fatso Jetson's live performance!
A band at the fringes of the Stoner Rock mainstream scene, Fatso Jetson has always been unfairly overlooked, even though they are among the movement's initiators, alongside Kyuss and Fu Manchu. They also hail from Palm Desert, California, the birthplace of this genre. Add to that the fact that Mario and Larry Lalli were also among the founders of Yawning Man, and it becomes clear just how vital these musicians have been to the creation and development of Desert Rock. Though the spiritual fathers of a genre based on repetition, Fatso Jetson stand out from any other band thanks to their diverse and ever-changing sound, especially since 2010, when they returned to the scene after an eight-year hiatus with an album that sounded almost Punk. This performance showcases that Fatso Jetson is more alive than ever, as well as their professional growth. Today, the band sounds like a fusion of Hard Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, and Psychedelic Prog, with an indelible Stoner Rock influence. This 50-minute live show is tight and aggressive, driven by the eclectic and eccentric voice of Mario Lalli.
